The Mole: A Tale of a Traitor is the twenty-third season in the TTRS Franchise. It is directly subsequent to Survivor: Bahamas.
The Mole is a reality game show originally created in Belgium. The first American season aired in 2001, produced by Stone Stanley Entertainment. After four seasons, the show was cancelled, but returned for a fifth season in 2008 by Stone & Co. Entertainment. All five seasons were aired on ABC.
In The Mole players must work together to complete challenges in order to add money to a pot which only one player will successfully win and claim as their prize. Among the players, one of them is a "Mole." The Mole's job is to sabotage competitions in order to prevent money from being added. After all of the challenges for the round has been completed, each of the players must take "The Quiz." The Quiz is used to determine the players' knowledge of who they believe to be the Mole. The player that scores the lowest score on the quiz becomes the Mole's victim and is "executed" or eliminated from the game.
